Nashville & Backbones are a country-folk band from Rimini, on Italy's Adriatic coast. Together since 1998, they write and sing in English, with roots in the American West Coast of the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a sound that comes from an unusual line-up: four voices, acoustic guitar, banjo, a classically trained violin, cajon and foot tambourine, and no bass player. The low end comes from the piano.
Two albums of originals (Haul in the Nets, 2012; Cross the River, 2015) and a run of singles mixed and mastered by Glenn Brown (Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass) sit alongside nearly thirty years of live shows: beach bars at sunrise, buskers festivals, theatres and club stages across Italy.
It started at the end of the nineties as the Nashville Acoustic Trio, three friends playing West Coast harmonies in the bars of the Riviera. The first record, Voices Inside My Head (2010), reimagined The Police as acoustic Americana; their version of Every Breath You Take has since passed 1.7 million streams on Spotify. Then came the originals: Haul in the Nets (2012), and Cross the River (2015), fourteen songs that travel from Caribbean rhythms to folk ballads, with a thirteen-minute title track. Both albums were recorded at Cristian Bonato's Numeri Studio; Bonato's credits include work with Ludovico Einaudi. The same year they recorded Spirit of the Summer with Raoul Casadei, the king of Romagna's own dance-hall tradition, the liscio.
In 2023 the band recorded four new songs in Emilia-Romagna with Nicola Brandi (Filter Recording Studio) and Enri Zavalloni (Atomic Studio) and sent them across the ocean to Glenn Brown's GBP Studios in Michigan for mixing and mastering. The result, Chasing the Sunshine, Something Wrong, You Are Not Alone and You're Beautiful, is the band's calling card today: harmony-driven songs that sound like the place they come from, a seaside town looking west.

Insieme dal 1998, scrivono e cantano in inglese, con radici nella West Coast americana di Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival e Crosby, Stills & Nash, e un suono che nasce da una formazione insolita: quattro voci, chitarra acustica, banjo, un violino di formazione classica, cajon e tamburello a pedale, e nessun bassista. Il basso lo fa il pianoforte.

Nello stesso anno registrano Spirit of the Summer con Raoul Casadei, il re del liscio romagnolo.
Nel 2023 la band registra quattro brani nuovi in Emilia-Romagna con Nicola Brandi (Filter Recording Studio) ed Enri Zavalloni (Atomic Studio) e li spedisce oltre oceano ai GBP Studios di Glenn Brown, in Michigan, per mix e master. Il risultato, Chasing the Sunshine, Something Wrong, You Are Not Alone e You're Beautiful, è oggi il biglietto da visita del gruppo: canzoni costruite sulle armonie vocali che suonano come il posto da cui vengono, una città di mare che guarda a ovest.
